I lived in Taiwan for 9 years and our house and school was surrounded by old growth bamboo groves. The beaches near our house were covered in pieces of bamboo in every size and shape. I started building Japanese style fences and came back to the ladder form which I could make in any size. There are a selection of small ladder forms available.

The spiral and circle is a form that returns to itself as a line. The spiral shape I found as the parts of chairs used in Asian furniture at a government sponsored recycle furniture studio. These were forms that I found in some of my early drawings and came back to me in my sailing experiences. There is a selection of small pieces available in this series.
